Giovanni D'Avola
Giovanni D’Avola or the brain as some refer to him, has been working with cars since his childhood. Giovanni started his knowledge base for cars in a race shop in Sicily which specialized in Targa Florio machines. With the guidance of Signore Gianni, Giovanni developed his gift for restoring and returning magnificent cars to the road.
While racing, his passion for the Cavallino became stronger and it took him to the states in April of 1972. Here, Giovanni quickly became known as one of the foremost experts regarding Fiats and Ferraris. He sharpened his skills for the vintage Ferraris while under the direction of John Hajduk with Motorcraft of Bensenville. Giovanni eventually took over operation of Motorcraft under a new name recognizable to real Ferrari enthusiasts, “Prova”. This all took place however after three years at Fireside Fiat and Lotus and the creation of Autosprint in 1985.
Since that time Giovanni has spent much of his life molding Autosprint into the type of shop that attracts classic car enthusiasts. He has dedicated much of his career to creating a first class reputation with his client base. His honesty and working knowledge of these marques has aided in the building of solid relationships with thousands of patrons nationwide. Giovanni continuously feeds his knowledge through the ongoing certification process in all areas of mechanical repair and restoration.
