The Radical RXC Turbo GT3 bring the thrill and versatility of Radical racing into the world of GT, at the kind of accessible purchase and operating price tag that Radical is famous for. The transition into top-level GT competition was the next natural progression for the lineup of Radical race cars. The SR1 puts Radical racing in the hands of even a track day novice. The SR3 RSX puts Radical drivers into the competition grid. And now, the RXC Turbo GT3 means the Radical experience extends to the championship level.
In fact, the RXC Turbo GT3 has already been approved for several national and international championship series the world over, including International GT Open, Supercar Challenge, and NARRA USA GT to name a few.
The new flagship of the Radical lineup, the RXC Turbo GT3 represents Radical’s return to top-level competition for the first time since the SR9 LMP2 competed in the mid-2000s.
The RXC Turbo GT3 also represents the pinnacle of Radical technology. It is powered by a variant of the Ford EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. Capable of generating over 500bhp while sacrificing not one bit of torque and drivability, the RXC Turbo GT3’s powertrain has been tested and proven to provide an affordable and efficient path to international GT racing.
The RXC Turbo GT3’s technological prowess doesn’t stop there. The high-tech advancements extend through the rest of the car, and into the cockpit. An advanced Bosch Motorsport ABS system ensures traction on any surface and in any weather, and can be adjusted using controls built into the dashboard. This combines with the traction control system, part of the LIFE engine management system, which provides progressive grip control under power and variable mapping. All of which is a Radical production model first.
The body also sports a design to match the machinery, which helps the RXC Turbo GT3 reach peak aerodynamic performance. It’s made of a multi-piece glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) composite, and features homologated diffusers in the front and in the rear, along with a carbon bi-plane rear wing. The doors are gullwing style with gas rams. These are wrapped around a chassis with a high-tensile strength CDS carbon tubular steel spaceframe with front and rear crash boxes made to FIA specifications. The headlamps and taillights have been replaced with a full LED race lighting system. There are also electronically adjustable and heated wing mirrors and air jacks.
The centerpiece of the interior is the fully-adjustable, multi-functional steering wheel, with EPAS multipoint adjustable power steering. This all sits in front of a heated front screen kept clear by a single windshield wiper, and below, an adjustable pedal box. All of which you’ll access from a bespoke FIA-compliant HANS compatible Corbeau seat with a four-point harness, black cloth, and contrast stitching.
On the dashboard, there’s an AIM MXS multifunction LCD display with digital rev counter and integral datalogger. It also includes LED gear shift lights, a multi-point adjustable traction control system, pit lane speed limiter, and an electric lifeline fire extinguisher system.
The Radical RXC Turbo GT3 represents the ultimate in GT performance, with the reliability, cost-effectiveness, and fun you expect from Radical. All of which makes it the best way into top-level international GT competition.
