Weir controlled the race pace, but it was Anzaldi and Mikulski who put on the show.
Radicals took to the track on Saturday August 21st for the 7th round of Autobahn Country Club member’s racing presented by Hagerty.
At the front of the field, Christian Weir had a hat trick. The young driver scored pole, had the fastest race lap and won the event. Behind Weir, a closely fought battle for second place made the event thrilling to watch.
Never more than about 0.6 seconds apart from each other, Mike Anzaldi and John Mikulski had a race-long battle over the 18 lap event.
Yellow flags popped up twice during the event. This made for exciting re-starts which kept the battle for second alive. Despite being faster, Mikulski was unable to pass Anzaldi, who did an excellent job of cleanly defending second place.
Also entered in the event was PJ Hyett, previous podium finisher John Rante, and Jason Greenwood. Hyett enjoyed his debut in his new Radical SR3 XX, and showed impressive lap times despite only having a few weeks of experience with this new SR3.
Radical’s next event will be at New Jersey Motorsports Park with Radical Cup North America on August 27th through 29th.
